Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Osner Art Gallery collects when you visit osnerartgallery.com or buy from us, why we collect it, and your rights. We follow South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and the GDPR for visitors from Europe and the United Kingdom.

Who we are

What we collect

When you order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing addresses, and your order details. Card payments are handled by Paygate and PayPal on their own secure pages. We never see or store your card details.

When you browse: information about your device and visit, such as your browser, IP address, the pages you look at and how you arrived, collected through cookies.

When you contact us or sign up to our letter: your name, email address and what you tell us.

Why we use it

  • To process, deliver and support your order, and to keep the records the law requires.
  • To answer your questions.
  • To send you news of new work and exhibitions, only if you have asked us to. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.
  • To show our advertising to people who may be interested, as explained below.

Who we share it with

Only with the service providers who help us run the shop and deliver your order: Shopify, which runs our online store; Paygate and PayPal, for payments; our courier, for delivery; and Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for analytics and advertising. We may also share information where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information. Google and Meta may use information about your visit to show you our advertising elsewhere. You can say no to this through Facebook and Google, and in our cookie settings where they appear.

Cookies

Some cookies are needed for the shop to work, for example to remember your selection. Others help us understand visits and show our advertising. Where the law requires it, we ask before setting anything beyond the essentials, and you can change your choice at any time.

Where it is stored, and for how long

Shopify stores information on secure servers outside South Africa, including in Canada, Ireland and the United States, with safeguards for international transfers. We keep order records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting, and other information only as long as we need it.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent to marketing at any time. Email info@osnergallery.com. If you are not happy with our answer, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za), or to the data protection authority where you live.

Children

The shop is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page.
