Koos van der Lende saw a picture of the wreck in a magazine as Angola opened up after the war, and knew he had to go.

He drove alone along the coast for more than a week, crossing a fifty kilometre stretch that can only be passed at low tide, until he saw her rise out of the sea mist. He spent five days with the wreck. Here he lifted the boat clean away from the sea, under a moving sky. Within a few years she was buried in the sand.

Also from the same five days: Forsaken No.2 and Forsaken No.3.

Artist: Koos van der Lende

Collection: Evidence of Mankind

Signature Collection, limited edition of 25, signed and numbered, with a certificate of authenticity

Only 25 prints will ever be made, across all sizes together.
