Koos van der Lende went down low among the daisies, so the flowers fill the foreground and lead the eye back across the plain to the bare ridges on the horizon, under a clear blue sky.

The Richtersveld, in the far north west of South Africa, close to Koos's own home in Namaqualand, is a UNESCO World Heritage landscape of mountains, the Orange River and the halfmens, a succulent that always leans to the north. Despite very little rain, more than 360 kinds of flowering plant have been found on a single square kilometre here, many of them watered by the morning sea fog the locals call Malmokkies. Nama herders still move their flocks between seasonal stock posts, as their people have for centuries.

Artist: Koos van der Lende

Signature Collection, limited edition of 25, signed and numbered, with a certificate of authenticity

Only 25 prints will ever be made, across all sizes together.
