homestead-reverie-celebration-print
Homestead Reverie, Celebration Print

Homestead Reverie comes from Martin Osner's Yesterday collection, and the painting carries its own words: “With closed eyes, nostalgia floods my mind; the old farmhouse on the top of the hill I find, its creaky floors and wooden walls, a place where memories forever recall.” A great cloud stands over a small white house on the veld, and the original painting now lives with a collector.

A celebration print is released so that a painting can be lived with by more than one person. One collector owns the original, and as more people acquire a celebration print over the years the standing of that original grows, which is the point of them. It is also how the work is seen again: when Martin holds a retrospective it is the larger celebration print that hangs on the wall.

Artist: Martin Osner

Celebration print from the Yesterday collection, numbered on the print before it is released

Archival pigment print on fine art paper

The signature is the artist's own, as painted on the original.
